# Custom AI software built around a real job.

> Build is veridive’s custom AI software service. The team designs and engineers bounded agents, workflow applications and AI features inside existing products, connected to the systems a company already runs. Each system ships with human review screens, audit trails and an evaluation set, usually through a Pilot to Production engagement of about six to ten weeks.

veridive designs and engineers software around the job it needs to do, from a knowledge assistant to a customer-facing product, with the evaluation, interfaces and integrations that make it usable on a Monday morning.

## What is custom AI software?

Custom AI software is software designed around one specific job, with AI handling the parts it does well and people deciding the rest. veridive builds bounded agents, workflow applications and AI features inside existing products, with the integrations, review screens, evaluation and audit trails that make them fit for everyday use.

## When should you talk to us?

- A team spends hours a day gathering information, drafting and checking work against policy.
- First-line requests follow patterns an agent could prepare, as long as a person still approves.
- A spreadsheet process has outgrown the spreadsheet and needs to become a product.
- You want AI inside your own product, not another tool your customers have to learn.
- An off-the-shelf tool almost fits, but it can’t reach your systems or follow your rules.

## What do you get?

- **Bounded agents.** Agents that act within limits you set, log every step and hand over to a person when they are unsure.
- **Workflow applications.** Internal tools built around one job and connected to the systems where the work already happens.
- **AI features in your products.** Search, drafting, extraction or assistance inside the products your customers already use, with the APIs behind them.
- **Human review screens.** Interfaces where people confirm, edit or escalate in one step, with the evidence in view.
- **Audit trails and documentation.** A record of inputs, outputs and decisions, plus the documentation your team needs to own the system.

## How does a Pilot to Production engagement run?

1. **Align and validate** (1–2 weeks). Agree the workflow, its owner and the acceptance criteria, and build the evaluation set from real cases.
2. **Build in increments** (3–4 weeks). Demo working software every week, connected to your systems and reviewed with the people who will use it.
3. **Pilot on live work** (1–2 weeks). Run alongside the current process on live cases and compare the results with the baseline every day.
4. **Embed and hand over** (1–2 weeks). Train the team, write the runbook, set up monitoring and agree who operates and improves the system.

## How can you start?

- **Discovery Sprint** · ≈2 weeks. If the opportunity is not validated yet, start here: a baseline, a data and access review, risks, and a pilot plan with acceptance criteria.
- **Pilot to Production** · ≈6–10 weeks. A paid, bounded pilot on approved data. When it meets the agreed evaluation and operational criteria, a separate production scope follows.
- **Embedded AI Partnership** · Monthly. A named team working alongside your internal owners as the system extends to more workflows, with capacity and service levels agreed together.

## What changes?

- **Software people use.** It is designed with the people who do the work, so it fits the way they already work.
- **People stay in charge.** Consequential actions wait for a person, and every recommendation shows its sources.
- **Quality you can see.** The evaluation set and weekly reports show how the system performs against the baseline.
- **Yours to own.** By default you own the code, prompts, evaluation sets and documentation created for you.

## Questions about custom AI software

### What kind of AI software does veridive build?

veridive builds software around one specific job: bounded agents, workflow applications, internal tools, customer-facing apps and AI features inside existing products. For example, a triage assistant that prepares return decisions with the evidence attached, or a drafting step that turns supplier invoices into ERP entries for approval. Every system includes review screens, an evaluation set and documentation.

### Who owns the code and prompts?

You do, by default. Ownership terms are agreed up front, and unless we agree otherwise you own the code, prompts, evaluation sets and documentation created for you. We hand everything over with a runbook, so your team can operate and improve the system without depending on us.

### Can an AI agent act on its own?

Only where the action is reversible, inexpensive and fully logged. For everything else, the agent prepares the work and a person decides. We agree these boundaries with the workflow owner before building, set permissions and spending limits, and extend autonomy only when the evaluation results and the live record show it is safe to do so.
