# AI for commerce teams: product data, answers and returns.

> Commerce intelligence is veridive’s applied AI work for retail and e-commerce teams. The team connects approved product, order and policy data to assistants that enrich catalogs, draft customer answers and triage returns, while merchants and support teams review before anything is published or refunded.

veridive gives commerce teams a better way to manage product information, support customers and resolve returns, with people still approving what customers see.

## What is commerce intelligence?

Commerce intelligence means applying AI to the everyday work of selling online and in stores: product information, customer questions and returns. The system prepares the work, such as enriched product attributes, answer drafts and return recommendations with evidence, and people approve it before anything reaches a customer. veridive designs and builds these systems around your existing stack.

## How does commerce work run today?

In a typical retailer, product data is copied by hand between the ERP, the web shop and several marketplaces, and each channel ends up with slightly different attributes. Support agents answer the same delivery and return questions many times a day, looking up orders in one system and policies in another. Returns arrive through stores, the website, marketplaces and the contact center, each with its own form, and a small team reviews them one by one.

## How does it work?

### Connect

- Approved product data and attributes
- Order details and customer history
- Return, refund and warranty policies
- Marketplace listings

### Assist

- Catalog enrichment and attribute extraction
- Answer drafts for customer questions
- Returns triage with photo checks
- Fraud and abuse flags for review

### Keep people in control

- Merchants approve content before it is published
- Support teams approve replies before they are sent
- Refunds above a threshold always need a person

### What to measure

- Time to publish a product
- First-contact resolution
- Return handling time
- Cost per resolved case

## Which systems does it connect to?

Typical systems, as examples of what we connect to (not partnerships): Shopify, Magento, SAP Commerce, Trendyol, Hepsiburada, Amazon, Zendesk.

## Where can it help?

- **Product description and attribute enrichment.** Descriptions drafted and missing attributes filled from supplier sheets and images, ready for a merchant to approve.
- **Listing consistency across channels.** Titles, attributes and prices checked across your shop and marketplaces, with the gaps flagged.
- **Customer answer drafts.** Suggested replies to order, delivery and return questions, with the order data and the policy paragraph attached.
- **Returns triage with photo checks.** Each return arrives with a recommended decision, the evidence and the policy behind it.
- **Fraud and abuse flags.** Unusual return patterns surfaced for a person to review, never decided automatically.

## What does a first project look like?

1. **Pick one workflow.** Returns, product content or customer answers: choose the one with the most volume and a clear owner.
2. **Measure the baseline.** Record volume, time per case and error rate, and turn a few hundred past cases into an evaluation set.
3. **Pilot alongside the team.** Run the system next to the current process on live cases and compare its recommendations with the team’s decisions.
4. **Decide on production.** Go to production only when the pilot meets the acceptance criteria agreed at the start.

## Questions about AI in commerce

### Can AI approve refunds on its own?

Only within limits you set, and never above them. In the returns systems we design, the assistant prepares each decision with the evidence and the policy paragraph behind it, and refunds above an agreed threshold always go to a person. We usually start with every decision reviewed and relax the rules only when the evaluation results justify it.

### Does it work with Trendyol, Hepsiburada and Amazon?

Usually, yes: we connect through the interfaces each platform provides, such as APIs, exports or your existing integration layer. Trendyol, Hepsiburada and Amazon are typical sources in commerce projects, and we confirm what is possible for your accounts during discovery. These are systems we connect to, not partnerships.
