Art direction.

One field, many drawings. The Momentum Field is the particle system behind every veridive image: tens of thousands of particles that flow like wind and gather into drawings.

4.1 The field

Wind, left to right.

Tens of thousands of fine particles flow from left to right in long filaments with gentle turbulence. On the site the field is live: it reacts to the pointer and gathers into a different drawing for each section. Everything in the kit, from share images to wallpapers, is rendered from the same field with the same code. Nothing is painted by hand.

4.2 Formations

Drawings made of the same particles.

The field gathers into drawings with a crisp outline and 45° hatching; where a drawing has an accent, it is Signal. Each formation explains something. Use one where it helps the reader understand the section, never as decoration.

4.3 Composition

Quiet field under every word.

Text and logos always sit on quiet field. On the site, legibility shields calm the particles behind text; the kit’s tools do the same automatically. Most of any frame is Midnight. Use one drawing per composition and give it room.

4.4 Motion

Slow, continuous, and yours to pause.

The field moves slowly and continuously, left to right, and drawings form and dissolve gradually, never as cuts. Anyone can pause it with the field button. When a device asks for reduced motion, the site shows a still of the field and draws each formation without animation.

4.5 Stills

When the field can’t move.

Print, email, share images and slow devices use stills rendered from the field. A still keeps the same wind direction and the same quiet areas for text, so it reads as the same brand.

4.6 Do and don’t

Five dos, five don’ts.

Do

  1. Generate imagery with the field tools, or capture it from the site. Never paint particles by hand.
  2. Let the wind flow left to right.
  3. Keep the field quiet under every word and logo.
  4. Use Signal sparingly: one accent per composition.
  5. Leave space. Most of any frame is Midnight.

Don’t

  1. Add glowing gradients, lens flares, bokeh, neon, circuit boards, robots or glowing brains.
  2. Bring other hues into the field, or fill large areas with orange.
  3. Put text over bright filaments or a busy field.
  4. Reverse or scramble the flow, or fill every corner with particles.
  5. Use stock photos, or photos of people who aren’t our team, as if they showed our work.

4.7 Files

Stills and backgrounds.

Field stills for web and print, wallpapers for desktop and phone, video-call backgrounds and slide backgrounds, each at its own size. Download the ones you need.
