05Knowledge & document intelligence

What is knowledge and document intelligence?

Knowledge and document intelligence turns contracts, policies, procedures and reports into answers people can check. The system finds the relevant passages, answers with a citation to the exact source, extracts and compares clauses, and flags risks. veridive builds it on approved, permission-aware sources, and legal, compliance and domain owners review what matters.

How do teams find answers today?

In a typical company, the answer to “what does our policy say?” lives in a shared drive, an old wiki and someone’s inbox. Contracts are compared by reading them side by side. New employees ask questions that experienced colleagues answered last month. Search finds files, but not answers, and nobody can tell which version is current.

How we work

Step 01

Pick one body of documents

Choose a set with frequent questions and a clear owner, such as HR policies or standard contracts.

Step 02

Build the test set

Collect real questions with expert-approved answers and sources before connecting anything.

Step 03

Pilot with one team

Answer live questions with citations, and have the owner review a sample every week.

Step 04

Extend with evidence

Add documents and teams only when accuracy on the test set meets the agreed threshold.

Questions

Questions about document AI

How is this different from an internal ChatGPT?

It answers only from your approved documents and shows the source behind every claim. A general assistant answers from what it learned in training and may not know your policies or which version is current. Our systems retrieve the relevant passages first, respect existing access rights, and say so when no source supports an answer.

Do you have your own product for this?

Yes, in part. veridive Labs maintains veridive Knowledge, our cited-answer engine for company video, audio and documents, and we reuse it across projects where it fits. It carries the idea behind our original answer engine: every answer comes with a source. Where it doesn’t fit, we build around your systems, and your data stays yours.
